Learning and perfecting how to accomplish common activities using Angular will help you advance quickly in your career, especially if you're new to web development. In this post, we'll look at one such activity that a developer must have performed thousands of times before: constructing a simple dropdown box.

What exactly is Angular?

Angular is a front-end development framework, for those of you who don't know and have happened onto this site due to the whims and fancies of the internet. Google is the company that created and maintains it. It allows you to build single-page online applications like Gmail, PayPal, and Lego in a modular approach. The Model-View-View-Model method is used in Angular applications.

Now, what is a Dropdown Box?

A drop-down box is a method of showing an array of options since only one choice is displayed initially until the user activates the dropdown box. A choose element or a list item might be used to add a dropdown box to a web page. The selected option must be set to the value selected in the first.

Using Angular to Create a Dropdown Box

To be honest, demonstrating all of the possible ways to construct a dropdown box in angular would be a bit overwhelming. Every developer's brain processes logic in its own manner. Now, we are going to be modest and show a very simple dropdown menu solution. The two methods are as follows -

1)Making a Dropdown List Using ng-repeat

Angular is such a versatile framework, there are numerous ways to design a basic dropdown menu. The ng-repeat directive repeats a block of HTML code for each item in an array; it can be used to create options in a dropdown list. However, the ng-options directive was created specifically for filling a dropdown list with options and has one significant advantage: dropdown menus created with ng-options allow the selected value to be an object, whereas dropdown menus created with ng-repeat must be a string.

2)By making a Dropdown List Using ng-options

You can use the ng-options directive to create a dropdown menu out of an array or list of items.
